I've installed PCP4 on two RPiZero+JustBoom with external wifi dongle combinations. But I keep having to reinstall due to ext4 filesystem errors.
Initially they boot fine (using wpa_supplicant to go headless right from the start). I then complete further setup of the player (ssh key login, password change, setting audio output, naming player, naming host, installing ffmpeg, etc.) >From that point onwards succesful booting becomes a bit of hit and miss... sometimes the unit boots fine, sometimes it never comes up completely. Being headless doesn't help as the sshd never even starts. So I hooked one up to the television to observe the boot process. My observations summarised for nr 1: - having played from LMS (nas) fine for a day, then trying to stream something from iPad completely crashed pcp (unit not responding on webinterface, ssh or ping for that matter) - Rebooting hangs at the final stages of starting squeezelite and shairport sync. Last line of output is: starting shairport sync - Using another machine I mounted the pcp SD card and edited the onboot.lst and removed shairport sync. I took care to correctly unmount before ejecting the SD card. - Now the boot process shows ext4 errors and fails even more (picture from tv screen available but I'm struggling to include it here) The other unit (nr 2) boots patchy as well, but still completes most of the time since the last install. Previously though, the SD card from nr 2 too showed ext4 errors. It sometimes struggled to restore the mydata.tgz file. I'm using new 16GB Kingston micro SDHC class 10 U1 cards. They should be fine right? It seems like my setup makes the ext4 filesystem corrupt easily. This is only after completing the setup. Up to that point several reboots all are without any problem. The last thing I enabled is shairport sync, so I suspect it may be the culprit. Any pointers or things to check? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Twist's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68601 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109404 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
