My perl version is:
$ perl -v|grep 5
This is perl 5, version 22, subversion 2 (v5.22.2) built for
x86_64-linux-thread-multi

That seems to be OK for 7.9.2
Your link refers to a Debian install. Is there also some documentation
available for Fedora?
