burn and image, and put a file called 'netusb' on the boot partition.  
Although I have to say, I just tested this and saw an error message that
the mount failed to setup a loop device.   I thought this was fixed in
the new mount.... but obviously not.

add  max_loop=100 to the command line for now, that will make the kernel
create all of the loop devices at boot time, rather than dynamically. 
(Of course  if you need more that 100 extensions mounted, you can use a
higher value.
