Such a good idea. I would never have thought of using an old router and OpenWRT for that kind of usage... actually any USB DAC would probably work, as long as it is USB audio compliant (instead of the sound card in your case). After a very quick search, I couldn't find the detailed spec of that router, but it looks like it has 128 Mb RAM... also 10% CPU seems quite low...
