Hi Greg, this is it. The case is one from Douk audio (Amazon, eBay etc.) and I 3D printed a front panel to take the screen. The touch screen (HDMI/USB) based actually looks better in the flesh with the morie patten being caused by the camera.
Not a huge deal but with HDMI screens and USB touchscreen drivers it takes a little more effort to hook it up and code it to work but the main reason for not using a HDMI screen on this project was cable and connector management. The HiFi setup has plenty of space around the screen to house the connections, part of the reason the front panel is so big. For the in-wall setup I did not have this space if I was to fit it in a standard UK double gang back box. The added benifit is that its pretty much plug and play being a DSI screen. The only thing that did not work was backlight dimming which most people won't be bothered about. A little effort resolved that too. 32931 The setup is a Pi 3+ with a modified wifi setup to allow the use of an external antenna. On top of that sits the Allo BOSS DAC HAT. I used two separate supplies, one for the Pi logic and another for the Allo DAC. Originally the setup was based on a Pi3 and I had two identical PSUs but the 3+ needed a little top up at 5.1V to prevent PSU throttling. 32930 It has been used daily in my office/workshop and has been bullet proof. Just switched off at the wall when not in use. Below it is an LDR preamp with an OLED display but after a lot of work I'm not convinced on the merrits of LDRs in this application so this will be one of my next projects. Finally the amp which is based on a pair of Tom Christiansen's excellent Modulus-86 amps 32932 +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: Hifi Setup.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=32932| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4943 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113022 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
