JP, I have both of these Allo DACs - https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114490-Allo-has-a-new-streamer-Boss2 - The Boss 2 display and remote are not much use to me. I use the Raspberry Pi 7" display and Jivelite on my PiCorePlayers (except the Boss2 which is controlled by a second pCP and 7" screen). The 7" screen and pCP is a winner. I have LMS on a Vortexbox server - Fedora and headless.
