You must remember that many of these plugins were written for the older hardware Squeezebox players with a VDU display (Transporter, Classic, Boom, etc.) Their settings are usually found under LMS > Settings > Player > Basic settings. Here's what I see for my Slim Devices SB3 (Classic) below.
