Don't know if these tidbits will help, but here are some things I have 
picked up.

OS X doesn't like interleaved RAM, I hear. I have mine deliberately 
"un-interleaved"

I would stick with Apple's Drive Setup, but that's just an opinion, I 
don't know how good Intech's OS X support is.

Video cards seem to be the biggest deal. Don't know about the others but 
I was able to install using my Radeon Mac Edition after pulling the MoBo 
VRAM, and leaving an adapter connected to the Mac's video port.

Ah, you've heard that as well.

That's what I get if I use the regular Startup Disk for my restart. If 
you haven't already, try using either XpOStFacto or Startup Disk X to do 
your restart.

Can't see that you would. After all, internal IDE is standard on current 
Macs.

It sounds to me like you've researched this pretty thoroughly, so I 
don't know if my newbie advice will be of any aid, but maybe something 
will click there.
