Ok, so I have OS X 10.1.4 running on the following system...

PowerMac 9600/233
Apple OEM G3/400 (no 10x) @ 373/186/46.6 on an XLR8 CarrierZIF, using Ryan's
Level2CacheConfig
640 MB, interleaved, 10x64MB unknown DIMMs
WD 9.1GB 10K RPM Ultra2 on an Adaptec OEM 2930CU
Apple 12x SCSI CDROM (also on the 2930)
ATI OEM Rage128/DVD
Generic 2-port USB card
WD 20GB Protege IDE & Yamaha 4416E CDRW on a VST ATA/66 UltraTekIDE card
(OWC/FirmTek firmware)
D-Link DFE-530TX+ 10/100 Ethernet (Realtek chipset)

As you may guess, I have a B&W G3 that's been upgraded a bit, so there's a
lot of handed-down equipment from that machine in here. (G3, video card,
SCSI card.)

My problem is the D-Link 10/100 card. It works fine in OS 9.1, but I can't
get to work reliably in the 9600. I'm using the Realtek drivers, since the
installer for the D-Link beta drivers just seems to hang.

The card shows up in the Network prefPane, and I can use it for a short
amount of time after starting up, but then OS X seems to forget what it's
doing and network traffic stop, or occasionally will revert to the built-in
ethernet.

Anyone else using a similar Realtek-based 10/100 card on an unsupported
machine? I'd love to be able to use it in addition to the built-in port as
well, to let me use this machine as a router between my home network and my
DSL connection, or possibly hang an Airport network off of it when I find a
cheap base station.
