Well as perhaps you know Mr. Rempel has reported that the latest
XPostfacto allows installing on both the Power Book 3400 and 2400
both of which came with 603 cpu's. I have seen reports of some
success on these machines both with the 603 cpu and models upgraded
to G3's. I belive there is still some work to do to make everything
work well. Ryan Rempel also has a Mac 6500 which will be his next
project for OSX.(after the power books) It too has the 603 cpu.It is
an upgraded version of the Apple 6400 which the UMAX C500/600 were
based on. So if he gets it to work other machines may well be made to
run . I have a UMAX C500 and 600 and have thought about taking it on
as a project. There just aren't enough hours in the day...You may know
I'm the crazy guy who got OSX to run on the S900/J700 Umax machines
after everyone told me it couldn't be done! This also opened the door
for a few Power clone models based on the same motherboards. This work
was folded into XPostFacto.
That's about all I know on the subject. People doing serous
code work seem to own the higher end models so there has yet to be
much work done on the 603 cpu machines. Will S
