Well, now, that's a *very* good question. I don't yet have enough information to say. And regrettably, my MacOS client base (I'm a freelance IT consultant & journalist) is not yet showing much enthusiasm for migrating to OS X. I tried to push people towards Windows NT when it was new because even users of only existing 16 -bit Windows applications got clear advantages from migrating. The same isn't really true of OS X. So I'll have to defer answering. On NT, as I said in another post, the *minimum* VM requirement is (physical RAM + 12MB). On OS X, it's much leaner: with 3-4 modest apps open and no Classic loaded, my VM file sits at 17KB committed, no more. But if you're doing memory-intensive stuff, I think the (physMem X 4) guideline will hold. I don't do anything like that on my PCs, so (physMem X 1.666) seems plenty.
