I'm not surprised to see this problem here

I had the EXACT same problem with the EXACT same card on a 7300 running 
10.2.3.  I did the same thing as you guys, downloaded the "official" 
driver from the DLink website, installed it but no joy.  Then I found 
this here:

and it worked! Many NIC's use the Realtek 8139 chipset. This is the 
manufacturer's driver.  I figured if this didn't work then NOTHING will!

The installer mentions in rather obvious language that you cannot 
install it properly from the Installer program, that you MUST use the 
Terminal to install it, but just for experimentation's sake I did NOT 
use the Terminal.  It installed without a hitch!  Hope this helps you 
guys!!
