I'm using a Tempo 133 right now, & I can tell you it works without a hitch. There is some supplied software you can utilize, should you encouter audio or video stutter due to bottleneckng at your computer's system bus, I've never actually neede the software on my S900, which I believe runs at the same bus speed as your PowerTower. As for USB & FireWire, I'm using the Sonnet Tango. Not the most frugal choice, but vey reliable. It has two USB ports, two external FireWire ports, & one intenal FireWire ports, all of which are powered, so you can utilize bus-powered FireWire devices, if need be. Be careful, though, as OS X is a bit picky about PCI cards. I would remove all but the graphics card & the Tempo for installation.
