QuartzExtreme.dmg -- the same tool used in the 'Power of X' videos.

basically it measures framerate and CPU usage in a floating window 
shaped like a guage. you have the option of enabling/disabling QE with 
the app but, not sure if this button effects the PCI setting but rather 
just the AGP.

how i would test: disable/enable QE for testing with a app specifically 
designed for the task the logout/log back in. the program might only 
effect AGP and not PCI. since QE effects OpenGL, test OpenGL stuff and 
normal everyday tasks.

benchmarks like xbench benefit little from QE. to see quantitative 
results, try testing stuff that you might do everyday.
