This is why I suggested they pull the PCI video card. One less thing to 
worry about since they'll be using the onboard video.

You might be right about this, there is a menu option to set the 
firmware to use a particular card for output. You have to select this 
if you use a Radeon 7000 and want it to show the startup text in 
verbose mode (or the grey Apple screen).
