Greetings,
My name is Richard Miller. I have had my Mac since Sept '01. When I got it it had OS X.0 and OS 9.1 installed. Anyways I has gotten to deep into some things and had to install OS 8.1 on it (the only OS I could afford) To shorten the story, After almost two years I have OS 9.1 installed. I partitioned the HD To install OS X back on. What did work at when I got the computer originaly.
The facts.
Mac 7500
604e 200mhz 310 RAM
Stock cd-rom
I am using XPostFacto 2.2.5 4 gig HD partitioned into 2 2gig units. Both are extened format I have OSX and OSx.1 upgrade to install.
I have been starting the OSX install in OS 9.1, using XPostFacto 2.2.5, which works fine until I get one of the three roadblocks...
error 138
error 60
And if I do get to the setup and start the instalation process, After you sign the agreement and start the actual install process I get this:
"could not unarchive files"
You know, that sounds like a flaky CD Rom drive...have you tried cleaning it.
