Greetings,

I have a PM 9600 upgraded as follows:

1. Sonnet G3 500 MHZ ( 1MB cache)
2. 640 MB Ram
3. ATI Rage (16MB) Video Card
4. ATTO UW SCSI Card SCSI bus 2 with 2 9 GB UW drives attached
Drive ID=2, 9GB Drive no SU Disk installed
Drive ID=6, 9GB Drive with OS 9.2.2 installed
5. Original 4, GB drive on internal SCSI bus 0 ( ID =0)
6. All drives formatted with Intech HD tools 2.5

Attempted to install OS X on 4 GB drive on bus 0. This drive has nothing
else on it. I was able to select the drive as the install drive in
Xpostfacto and after the machine restarted from the install CD I was able
to select that drive in the OS X installer. I got the dialog that said
that it was reading files, and then it asked if I wanted to do a standard
installation, I selected yes and then a few seconds later it said, "error
during installation'" and gave me the restart button. I restarted and
when it came up on the screen was the universal "Not sign" (circle with a
slash through it). I was able to ZAP my PRAM and restarted in 9.2.2.

By the way, the 9GB drive ID=2 on SCSI bus 2 was previously selected as
not mount at startup, but when the OS X install disk started the machine
up I could hear that that drive spun up. (It is the loudest drive in my
machine).
Anyway, any suggestions that you might have would be appreciated.

Thanks
JW Holmes
