just wondered if anyone had a suggestion for a vcd player for os x jaguar?
thanks,
jake
MacVCDX is the best VCD player out there now that Quicktime no longer plays VCD's. It also plays SVCD's but oddly so does Quicktime with the MPEG 2 plug in added. MacVCDX which also comes in a version for OS 9.x. Mac VCD X isn't free however.
VLC is another player which many people seem to like but doesn't work well on my machine. It also plays DivX if it works on your machine ;-) and it's free. I don't think it plays Cd's so you have to copy to hard drive.
My favorite free player and I use it for DivX and WMV and asf files is Mplayer plays nearly any file I try it with including DivX on CD's ( no need to use Disk Dr before playing) Both can be found at versiontracker.com or with google.com search. Will S
