How does the G3 upgrade card wake up under XPF and Jag? Most upgrade cards I have ever dealt with are under OS9 and require some sort of extension to make them wake up. Plus the only upgrades that I have ever used don't replace the CPU--i.e. L2 cards, and 601 / Nubus G3s. So how does this work?
This upgrade card replaces the existing processor in the 7600; no wake up is needed. The extensions that these cards require turn on the onboard cache.
To do that under OSX you need to use either L2Cache Config (from the same author as XPostFacto, and at OWC's web site), or Powerlogix' Cache Control X to enable it.
You will notice that X runs incredibly slowly until you do get the cache enabled.
I'd stay away from the voodoo card, you certainly have to remove it to install, though people have reported that it works when installed after installing OSX.
