Is there ANY way to be able to boot into an OSX boot cd from an unsupported machine???

2- If you mean boot from CD (eg: Holding 'C' key down during restart) then NOT on pre genuine Apple G3 based machines (I think it works with beige versions!? - definitely on B&W and later)

O.K.... let me put this another way:

What do I have to put on a Boot CD (so I can fix OS Jag) that would make it boot on an unsupported 9600/G4/800? EVEN if I have to boot to it out of XPostFacto...

How do I fix Jag by booting into something else?

Simple answer is you don't. That's the beef with using an *unsupported* machine. You can boot into OS9, use XPF to boot from your Jag installer disks, and use the tools there to fix your Jag installation, if you can, but that's about it afaik.

You could add another disk, install Jag on *that* and boot into that fully functioning system and try to fix your other one. This might be the best solution; have a repair HDD around to plug in as needed.
