I'm using a Realtek-based RTL 8139C 10/100 card which is very very popular down here in Brazil (you can buy it for like US$ 10, it's dead cheap) and once the drivers are installed, it works like a champ.

Go after this card, it works nearly everywhere (my Linux, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, MacOS 9 and MacOS X are all suported by the drivers).


That's what I ended up going with, and it works great. :-)
