Well, I think I burned up my 18 GB SCSI HD trying to get it to work. It doesn't seem to be spinning. Any thoughts on fixing something like that? I sure wanted to get it to work with X.

Thanks,

Kevin

It certainly is difficult. But after much to-ing and fro-ing I managed to get OSX installed on an 18 Gig scsi drive with ID=0 and the data [my 8500 functions as a web/mail/print/file server] on a similar drive with id=1. The scsi cd-rom remains at 3 and an initio card has a striped raid with id=0 mastering a pair of 4Gig scsi drives. No IDE here!!! but I must confess it's rather a matter of stubbornness and pride rather than common sense. Runs 10.2.8.
