Mouse stopped dragging

A few days ago my mouse stopped dragging.  I can click on an item.  I 
can select, open, right click for contectual menus;  but can't drag.

I've tried different mouse and updated, reset and reinstalled drivers. 
(Microsoft Intellimouse Wireless Optical)  The right button works as it 
should, even program specific. (Open link in new tab in Safari, use 
mouse wheel click to close the tab)

ADB mice do the same thing.

I don't recall installing any piece of software the last few days.

Since I am running OS X 10.2.8 on an 8500 using xPostFacto 2. (what 
ever was latest this summer) do I need to do something special to try 
to get this working again? Any suggestions?
