I am using Jaguar on a 8500 with a Sonnet Crescendo G3 400 MHz daughtercard upgrade.
Classic simply will not load unless I disable extensions.
That limits the usage, somewhat. What can I do?
Go through each extension one by one and see which one is causing the problem would be my suggestion.
Your first suspects should be any extensions that go with the Sonnet upgrade. I found that if I left the PowerLogic Altivec Enabler in the OS 9 Extensions it prevented Classic from launching from inside OS 10.3.2
There are a couple of things to consider. Disable all extensions that are handled under OS X (Quicktime, open transport, networking etc, etc) All Classic need is the bear minimum to boot and enable you to run the classic software you need. Everything else is redundant. As classic overlays X all of these things are controlled by X, the same applies to Sonnet processor upgrade extn under OS 9 - it's not needed. As it's only a G3 upgrade you wont need the Altivec Enabler anyway.
Hope this helps
Simon
