A) The first B&W G3s were released as 300, 350 and 400 MHz. Later they got a speed bump.
B) As we're all painfully aware, different models of Mac are dropping off the OS X supported list over time. First its the limited graphics support in Rage II machines (iMac, Beige, WallStreet). Then its the lack of Quartz Extreme (Radeons and above only). Now its the OldWorld ROMs (not allowed in Panther). So we don't know when the B&Ws will drop of the supported list and why, but we know it's likely to happen one day. Many folks on this list have both supported and unsupported machines, and use the knowledge from one to maintain the use of the other.
