Solved!!!
Did 4 cold starts and all is well. Something simple. Duh! Upgraded
XPostFacto to 3.0a11 from 3.0a10 and it now works. Strange but 3.0a11 caused
major headaches in the 9500. Guess these 8500s  are temperamental.
