I thought you were about to do that. It's an easy mistake, I almost told you to at one point because I got them backwards. :) > DUH!! Those were the "real ones" Precisely. It created those because there were, well, incompatible folders under /Volumes with the names it wanted. > And I will just go ahead and remove the bogus ones and the > "OtherPartition". Many thanks again. I understand that it's your > theory that this would not have happened if I kept my main user account > in the startup volume? It may not, I don't know enough about the way the login application handles this situation, but since it didn't seem to be creating valid homes for the other users (as I understand it) there seemed to be something special about that one. As I said, I leave my home directory in the system disk and just make sure I stick big directories on the big disk. Usually I symlink them there... but you can just go and set your preferences in iTunes, iPhoto, what have you, to point elsewhere. > another drive and I'll get to re-plan the whole breakdown too. Yep, that's what I was going to suggest, but I figured you could look around more easily from a full system. -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
