check the sites of manufacturers for refurb/discontinued scanners cheap, and then do a google search for reviews as all of the scanner makers have/are selling some really, really bad ones. also check ebay. i got a scanner for $10+shipping (usb, legal size, high resolution!) that's a current model that umax was selling refurbed for $80, in original box with software and all! just be sure to look for reviews, i almost bought one that is hated by everyone who's bothered to say anything about it!
