Let's see if I (and others?) then understand this... You are saying that when the install cd or dvd do not recognize the computers and so will not try to install, that bringing a previously installed copy of the system to that machine via an external drive, and copying it...then works? Or did I miss something here? You used what method of copy...carbon copy cloner?
Would the other way around also work...ie. If I take the drive from the machine where it won't install, and put that drive in a newer machine to do the install, can I then bring the drive back and have it boot/work? If so, how much of the setup needs to be done on the second machine, or what parts need to be done on the first one so it is happy there? Can someone (re) send me this message from Michael? Thanks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ on 12/26/04 3:31 PM, Unsupported OS X at [email protected] wrote: > Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... > > Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> > > Unsupported OS X Digest #879 > 1.
