Just to let you know: Thanks to XPF 4.02b Tiger is now running on my Apus 3000/c600 (with 300 MHz Zif upgrade, 64 MB video card)! As reported for virtually any Mac, Tiger feels snappier; the UI-Test of XBench scored 50% better than with Panther. Because of the limited RAM (144 MB max.), it is not advisable to use to many programs at the same time, but the computer is still totally appropriate for browsing, e-mail, word processing etc.

Thanks for the report! I was hoping that my Xbench Tiger tests would also apply to Unsupported systems and according to your results, they do.

In an iBook G3/600, Pismo G3/500, Pismo G4/550, B&W G3/350, and B&W G4/450, and iMac G3/500 which I've upgraded to 10.4 for myself and clients, the Xbench UI increased by about 45% on average (other scores were the same as 10.3.x). Oddly enough, more recent G4 and G5 Macs only show a 15% increase in UI speed as tested by Xbench.

Who knows if these numbers are real, but all the older machines at least *seem* pretty fast for everyday use.
