Dear List: I posted a message here a few days ago about upgrading a friend's 8500 to Panther. Unfortunately, I didn't provide many specifics on its configuration. So here below is its configuration:
The 8500 is currently running OS 10.2.8 (through X PostFacto), with a Sonnet G3 350 processor upgrade card, an ATI Radeon 7000 video card, 320 MB of RAM, and a 40 GB ATA drive attached to a Sonnet Tempo Trio card. Save for a sleep issue a couple of months ago, OS 10.2.8 has been running quite smoothly on my friend's 8500. Based on this configuration, what sort of challenges may I encounter trying to upgrade this computer. I realise that people's experiences running OS X on these older Power Macs do vary. I would appreciate any words of wisdom you can offer.
