I think Linux now runs on the PB 1400. However 16 MB is still very tight.

If you can get a cheap Lombard G3 PowerBook, you'll be able to run OS X satisfactorily. You'll need plenty of RAM, and maybe a bigger HDD. You can make it do WiFi with a suitable 802.11b or g card. Is it all worth it? Officially Tiger won't install on a Lombard (but Panther will), although XPostFacto should allow this.

Pismo G3s can run OS X well, and second-hand cost more than Lombards. People like the built-in FireWire, though in fact the chipset's performance is poor compared with modern machines.

Wallstreet G3s are quite cheap second-hand. However, there are several gotchas with early models. Probably not a good choice for OS X.

Sorry, the 1400 is Nubus-based and will likely never run any form of OS
X. Your best bet is to trade it in on a cheap Powerbook G3 if you're
wanting OS X. There's also no way OS X would work on 16 megs of RAM or
133mhz.
