It just dawned on me that that would be a smart plan...and be
justified under the same logic that they maintained an x86 version.
I suspect they will, just to keep in practice, and to keep Intel honest.
They're going to be supporting PPC-based systems for a long time to
come, certainly through at least the next two OS releases, which
should take us to 5-6 years or so post-transition.
There's going to be a fairly long 'tail' of PPC systems out there.
