What then, should I be looking for in terms of corruption?
What are the symptoms of corruption?
I've been running my Rev. 1 B&W with 2 120 GB drives, for about 2
months now. I don't leave it running all of the time, but I have
certainly left it running for days at the time, processing files.
So far, its been quite reliable. I've used my 9500's quite a bit
less, since.
I have 2 B&W. One Rev1 with bad ATA Controller and one Rev2 with good
controller. Those are my main boxes. The symptoms on the Rev1 were
that I was barely not able to boot an OS9 on a fast Drive. OSX (afair
Panther) booted but crashed regulary.
To the poster with the B&W with those 2 120 gigsters:
An Apple Tech guy told me that not all of the Rev1 have bad ATA
controllers. Seems you're in luck and you have a good one. My Rev1
with _one_ 7200RPM 40 Gigster (the fastest one available at that
time) could not even boot OS9. I gave the box a Sonnet ATA Card and
the Drive is screaming now with 40 MB per second max rate.
cheers,
Sven
