A month or so back, I bought myself a Radeon 7000 from ReTek on eBay. They're in America, I'm in London. It never came & they didn't answer my emails.
Happily, Paypal refunded the money. Since then, I lost out on several of them in the UK, but at the end of last week, I got one locally for £23.99. Tonight I cycled over to get it. It went in with no hassle whatsoever, I now have the Radeon working and with the aid of the PCI Extreme hack, I have a 2,304x870 pixel, TrueColour, Quartz Extreme-accelerated dual-head desktop. I am absolutely chuffed. The machine goes like stink now! (I do have a 1GHz G3 in my B&W for now, mind.) PCI Extreme 3.1 works perfectly on Tiger 10.4.7, no hitches at all. Apple System Profiler says that QE is enabled and functional on both heads and the GUI is /considerably/ more responsive than it was when driven by my 2 old Rage128 cards - and they were a great deal better than my old Voodoo5 or onboard RagePro in my Beige. This really is a worthwhile upgrade for an otherwise-well-specced PCI Mac. I am delighted.
