Does anyone in here know osCommerce well enough to tackle this?
My experience with osCommerce has been that
anyone who is experienced enough to tackle their project is also
experienced enough to know to stay away from their project.
Seconding that. What carts ARE good right now? Currently I'm still
staying with x-cart when people need a cart. It's got its issues
too, just less than the other carts I've dealt with. Magento was
looking promising but last I took a good look at it (about a year
ago) it wasn't scaling very well.
I worked with OS Commerce for many years and it is the equivalent of
eternal damnation. There will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of
teeth. Much sorrow awaits he who embarks on the path of the OSC.
Perhaps if you take some drugs before you embarks, it may be a
different experience.
Magento, very promising, but not ready yet.
I currently opt for building a custom cart. Usually ends up being
that anyway.
Good luck.
