I think that a dedicated UTOS announcements mailing list is an excellent idea. To be clear, I'm not saying that I'm not interested in UTOS; just that I'd prefer to only receive one copy of the announcement (instead of one from each LUG I subscribe to). I don't think that signing up the various LUG lists to the UTOS list is a good idea as it wouldn't change the multiple copies. A lot of programming/ tech individuals in the area subscribe to multiple lists. A dedicated UTOS list gives the user complete control over what they want to consume.
