I've only worked with 4 different companies.

Cheap/Low-end
* GoDaddy - Email validation only.  Generally requires an intermediate cert.

Reseller
* OpenSRS/Tucows - Offers reseller accounts/APIs (see Xmission).
Decent management, but allows custom management software through the
APIs.  Simple, and relatively competitive pricing.

Mid-range (organization validation)
* GeoTrust - A bit pricey, but they are responsive, and have high
trust/awareness levels.
* Globalsign - a lot cheaper than GeoTrust, domain validation is a bit
slower, very good ordering/management interface.  High trust,
acceptable awareness levels.
