Job Hunting 2014 Edition***

Ways to get noticed (besides GitHub):
1) Networking (like UPHPU, LinkedIn)
2) Create a Kickstarter project with hipster code
3) Write an app like Flappy Birds

Ways to get unnoticed:
1) Stay home playing Flappy Birds
2) Contribute to someone else's Kickstarter project
3) Use a recruiter

Without going into a lot of details, I just switched jobs, and I'm
very happy. But literally every time a recruiter submitted my resume,
it guaranteed I didn't get called by that company. The absolute kiss
of death! Of course, a recruiter working for that company is a
different story. My point is, even if you get noticed by a recruiter
on GitHib, they might actually destroy your chances. Just saying from
experience...
