Hi - Thanks for these point-by-point explanations, they really cleared up a lot.
I guess I need to remember to always put val = in front of an expression at the start of a line. Otherwise, I see how the expression just would get "appended onto" the preceding line. So everything needs to start with one of these "delimiters". ###
