Thanks Uwe, but unfortunately we often get Xilinx's new chips quite
rapidly after they're released.  We can count on IMPACT always being
able to generate an SVF for brand-new chips, but we can't afford to
wait for xc3sprog to add support for them.

Also, xc3sprog cannot talk to a BSCAN_VIRTEX5 after configuration.
We've found out that urjtag can.
