Hello, we have finally resolved the licensing issue with Altera/Actel STAPL Player original source codes. I asked for a help on Actel technical support, and they approved me that there is no reason why the code downloaded from their web site should not be GPLv2 compliant. My patch is based on the STAPL player downloaded from Actel, so there is no license obstruction to merge the patch with UrJTAG. The tab and trailing space free patch can be downloaded here http://rtime.felk.cvut.cz/~pecam1/stapl_final.patch.gz . I also enclose the dump of my communication with Actel tech. support. If you still have doubts regarding the licensing, write me, whose "blessing" I need.
Best regards, Michael ========================= Hi Michael Thanks for the compliments. Yes your interpretation is correct. There is no license requirement if you use STAPL player from our web site. However, if you say that it is completely free, there is no doubt it can be included in a project under GPLv2 (GNU General Public License). If my interpretation is correct, we can close this ticket, then. Thanks for the fast reply, you (Actel/Microsemi) have the fastest support service, I have ever encountered.
