Sr. SAS Programmer 2 open positions 6 month contract Location: PA Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or similar quantitative field. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years data and statistical analysis experience in programming and analyzing healthcare centric data, in particular, patient-level transactional claims data, and / or consumer level product data. Familiar in working with prescription, physician and hospital claims data, and also ideally with consumer OTC medications and products data. Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications: (First list requirements, followed by preferences.) SAS (Base SAS, SAS Macro Language, SAS/STAT) and / or SQL programming, plus Excel Knowledge of relational databases Knowledge of healthcare coding conventions (ICD9, CPT, HCPCS) Knowledge of OTC medications and products used in healthcare. Peer review, code review, business walkthroughs Ability to work independently and as member of a team Job Description: SR. SAS PROGRAMMER: This person will be responsible for the following activities: *Define, plan, build and test software programs for data and statistical analysis to address business and technical needs. Ensure program code follows internal guidelines for style, formatting and structure. *Provide advice on analytical methodologies and best practices for all projects (internal, sales support, client revenue) and assist in the construction of a syndicated production analytical environment. *Analyze technical and business performance of assigned analytical algorithms and recommend improvements and solutions to actual and potential problems. *Provide weekly status reporting about day to day projects and assigned activities. *Performs day to day data and statistical support for internal and client revenue projects, and undertakes enhancement and new development of new and existing analytical algorithms, methods and procedures.
