I have just had the following position come available *LOCATION Ashburn VA* *DURATION 2 years* *RATE $40.00ph* *MUST have previous Verizon Experience – Previous Verizon Manager Reference will be checked* * **Functional Responsibilities: * Responsible for Java/J2EE/J2SE application development supporting business objectives while providing expertise in software development lifecycle phases from concept and design to testing. *Required Qualifications/Skills: * B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math or related and minimum of 7+ years experience in as a Java Developer. Ø Ability to communicate effectively verbally, work independently and write effectively. Ø Must have strong analytical skills and abilities, attention to detail, exceptional follow-through. Ø Solid understanding of multi-tier application architectures including performance implications, scalability and reliability. Ø Experience in web development using JAVA 1.5/1.6, JavaScript, HTML, Oracle, PL/SQL, STRUTS 1.x/2.x, Hibernate, Spring, SOAP and XML/XSLT technologies. Ø Thorough understanding in the design and implementation of web services using technologies such as Axis 1.x and 2.x. Experience in Database Systems and Application Servers such as Oracle, JBOSS, Tomcat and middle-ware technologies. Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Ø Strong Experience in using PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Sequences, Packages and Views. Ø Problem and change management tools, such as Clear Case, CVS, Mercury Quality Center(MQC). Ø Strong UNIX shell scripting experience. Ø Experience with Apache web server configuration/administration. Ø Must have excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills. *Preferred Qualifications/Skills: * Experience with VoIP-related systems/functions and Telecom domain knowledge strongly desired.
