Role: Technical Architect
Location: Houston, Texas Duration: 12 months Rate: 45/hr. all inclusive POSITION PURPOSE: The following position is required for architect, design and install Data Centre LANs and WAN networking technologies. Required skills are necessary to configure networking hardware and software to meet client business needs and document the solution for ongoing support, including technical standards and operational procedures. This role will function as part of an implementation team on larger projects or will lead the effort in medium to large projects. The Senior Network Engineer may also provide technical support to the sales staff and assist with the support of networking solutions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform analysis of LAN/WAN requirements and architect and generate proper designs according to business needs. • Lead and coordinate technical projects involving LAN/WAN’s implementation. • Evaluate LAN/WAN hardware and software requirements and provide recommendations. • Monitor and maintain network stability via Network Management Tools. • Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts. • Provide an on-going network component which includes but are not limited to routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers configurations changes. • Delegates tasks and project related work to associate level team members. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide required leadership to accomplish defined goals and objectives. • Focus the team on tasks at hand or internal and external requirements. • Communicate team status, task accomplishment and direction. • Have experience in operations as well and Technical Project Management • Have at least three years experience in above skill set Location * 7 minimum years of experience in Networking * Cisco CCNP level or similar required * Strong experience on designing multiprotocol networks. * Hands-on experience on Checkpoint and Juniper firewall technologies * Hands-on experience with Cisco Data Centre high end Core and Aggregation routers and switches. * Hands On experience with VPN Technologies, (LAN to LAN, IPSec Client and SSL VPN) * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Technical and Non-Technical) * Extremely "Detail Oriented" individual with the ability to multi task * Experience with configuration and operation of network services (DNS, Load Balancing, Proxy, NAT) * Working knowledge of routing protocol such as EIGRP, BGP and OSPF * Experience with VLAN, Spanning Tree and VTP design, operation and troubleshooting * Experience with Gigabit Ethernet technology * Experience with Data Center three layer Cisco routing and switching topology * Hands On experience with firewall technologies, (PIX, Checkpoint and NetScreen) * Working experience with SNMP and RMON-I/II based NMS (CiscoWorks, HPOV etc.) * "Hand-on" experience with operation and analysis of packet and protocol analyzer. * Experience with CSU operation and configuration (ADC, Motorola and Adtran desirable) * Strong "hands-on" experience with Frame-Relay theory, operation and configuration * Working Knowledge in the following software packages, MS Visio, MS Project and MS Office Suite.
