MANDATORY EXPERIENCE

CANDIDATES NOT MEETING ALL OF THE MANDATORY EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS BELOW
WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION
1. Three (3) or more years of experience supporting user applications and
working with clients to troubleshoot system errors/functionality. This
includes workstation, printer and network issues.
2. Three (3) or more years of experience working on technology projects.
3. Experience and competent using MS Office suite (Word, Project, Excel,
PowerPoint, Visio, and Access) and test management tools such as Mercury.
4. Experience and the ability to obtain, understand, and write business,
user and functional requirements to be used to create test plans. Create
technical documents with attention to detail when requested.
5. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and
written with an emphasis on active listening. Must be able to comfortable
interact with Users and other technical support groups.

ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS

Candidates must also have (5) of the preferred skilled sets listed below.
Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential
specifications below will not be considered for the position.
1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, natural sciences or related
field.

2. Aptitude to manage and lead client relationships, negotiates and build
consensus, and adjust to change.
3. Experience with working on a team that trouble shoots applications,
network and/or workstation issues and resolves issues for the users. Must be
able to work with users to clearly understand and document the issues.
4. Proven team experience including leading business user teams, focus
groups, JAD sessions and working in a team environment.
5. Experience in working with business owners on developing comprehensive
test plans, acceptance criteria and defect resolution.
6. Experience in managing multiple project tasks and priorities.
7. Experience in understanding expectations that were set with client and
recognizes when issues/events may affect delivery.
8. Experience working with the Mercury Quality Center (HP)

Project Description: LIMS Enhancements and Support:
The client is dependent upon technology. As a result more and more
enhancements/improvement are needed for the Lab. There is currently a strong
need to support these enhancements being made to the existing Laboratory
Information Management System (LIMS). Support LIMS includes, but is not
limited to, documenting requirements for enhancements, testing the
enhancements, trouble shooting existing application issue and finding the
best possible solution for the issue and/or enhancement request. The current
system is complex and requires requirements gathering, documentation and
recommendations for the future enhancements as well as troubleshooting
issues. The initial focus will be to work with the existing LIMS
Coordinators supporting the application.

The Specialist I or II will assist the LIMS Coordinators with user
requirements gathering and documentation. This person should be able to use
MS office suite tools. The person will be expected to develop business
requirements documents, workflows, use cases and testing scenarios.
Specialist I or II will also support the LIMS application for any
troubleshooting and system issues. This will include supporting workstation,
instrument and network related issues. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills are necessary. Previous experience working in a
laboratory environment is preferred.
