The candidate should have a strong technical background and be able to navigate through databases and multi-tiered application code to make changes and enhancements to existing systems. The candidate also must be able to independently design and build small systems, or work with a more senior developer on a complex project. Responsibilities also include operational tasks and production support. Job Requirements: *Principal Responsibilities: * · Carries out programming functions: Writes, debugs, and tests code following best practices using Informatics Power Center. · Meets with managers or project leaders to define systems needs and to design applications. · Analyzes user needs and develops project specifications with users. · Researches and resolves flow of information and system issues. Responds to bug reports. · Provide production support for existing systems. · Maintains various databases. · Assumes additional responsibilities as requested *Qualifications: * · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics or equivalent. · One to two years programming experience preferred; however qualified recent graduates will be considered. · Skills in one or more of the following preferred: SQL, JAVA, scripting such as Perl, Informatics Power Center. · Relational database knowledge required. Experience with Oracle and SQL Server preferred. · Strong written and oral communications skilled required. · Strong analytical skills required. · Basic knowledge of financial services industry preferred.
