LAUREL, NJ *Duration* *6+ months /Contract* *MOI * *: * *Telephonic + F2F* *Skills* *As part of the Network Engineering Commercial Services team the contractor will perform the following activities*: -*New deployment of hardware and configuration* across Comcast national footprint -*Tier 2 Escalation support of commercial products (EDIA/EPL/EVPL/VPLS)* for Comcast customers. -Partnering with Product and Architecture Engineering teams to develop, design and deploy new technologies and innovations. *Additional Skills * § *Network Automation and Scripting* § Create and document high-level and detailed documentation for augmentation of existing networks § Support Generation of *network configurations to support market augments* . § Assist in the development and planning for the roll-out of future hardware and software versions in coordination with the Network Architecture team. § Lead Engineer in all DRT meetings for Commercial Engineering. § Technical Lead Engineer for Commercial Engineering in new services rollout projects. § Liaison between Network Architecture team and the Commercial Services team § Liaison between Product Engineering team and the Commercial Services team § Communicate applicable design guidelines and provide guidance to engineers to ensure compliance *Position Comments * These individuals will work along wide Comcast Network Engineering team supporting infrastructure moves/adds/changes/projects. *Job Description * § Assists in the *planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless and VoIP) of moderate complexity*. § Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering. § Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. § Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. § Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement. § Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. § Typically has at least *5 years of IT work experience* in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation.
