Ensure security of data stored on network servers and workstations and establish backup procedures. Develop network solutions to address present and future needs; test hardware, software, and operating systems to assess usability without risking network stability; recommend software purchases to reduce risk of network failures; project budgets. Install hardware and software including network infrastructure (servers, interface cards) and cabling. Consult with supervisor, Central Information Technology Services, and/or vendor on more complex issues. Review and analyze hardware and software needs; evaluate new technologies and recommend changes and upgrades to provide efficient, effective and timely service to users REQUIREMENTS 7-10 years of network engineering CCIE Strong experience with a variety of cisco products Able to mentor jr team members Intuitive ability to trouble shoot difficult issues Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
