Straight administration. *JOB DESCRIPTION: System Administrator II* · The System Administrator II responsibility is divided between operational maintenance and support of existing environments and request/project tasks. · This includes operational support activities such as resolving software and hardware related problems, managing backup and recovery activity, administering application “middleware” and technology layers, managing monitoring and alerting functions, performing capacity planning and conducting version management. Evaluation and implementation services for new products, technologies and solutions to address corporate business requirements are also provided. · Project assignments can range from small to mid-size in scope with moderate complexity. · System Administrators II work closely with developers, infrastructure support, database administrators and application support teams to ensure seamless and quality IT support for customers and alignment with standards, controls and governance. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* • Provide exceptional customer service to end users, Business Stakeholders and other members. • Perform daily production support activities. • Participate in team on-call rotations. • Perform patching and code deployments across all environments. • Coordinate support efforts between Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) and other IT teams. • Participate in minor projects associated to the enhancement, upgrade/patching, or implementation of new or existing software solutions. • Initiate change management requests and adhere to the IT CM process. • Perform source code/versioning management function adhering to technical management guidelines. • Provide ownership of technical issues within the System Administration group • Provide oversight and facilitation of the Dignity IT change management process as it applies to the System Administration team. • Participate in strategic planning activities (capacity planning, process improvement, maintenance, upgrade and end-of-life planning, roadmap development) • Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting • Build new test and production environments on existing or new hardware. • Assist with the design and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring and alerting process across all ETS platforms • Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive and ongoing release management and planning effort • Perform technical mentoring and cross training with other team members. *QUALIFICATIONS:* • BA or BS in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience and certifications • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in an IT technical or infrastructure field is required *REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:* • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Windows Server operating systems • Minimum of 3years’ experience with SharePoint 2007, 2010 or 2013 environments • Experience with SharePoint web parts, master pages, themes, and all other core SharePoint functionality • Experience with creating workflows using SharePoint Designer • Experience with SharePoint customization features such as Service Applications, Web Service APIs and the Client Object Model • Experience with PowerShell • Proficiency with Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory and Kerberos • Understanding of portal concepts, application integration, information management, document management, analytics and dashboards • Knowledge of SharePoint integration with other Microsoft products • Experience configuring and troubleshooting SharePoint Search • Operational experience with storage networks and technologies (EMC, NetApp) *DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE* • Expertise with SharePoint BI features such as PerformancePoint, PowerPilot, SSRS Integration, and Excel Services • Understanding of messaging, proxy, DNS, firewall, UAG, authentication and network security • Working knowledge of SQL Server, and operational experience with SSAS, SSIS and SSRS • Experience with other Web Enterprise Content Management solutions such as IBM/Lotus WCM, IBM WebSphere Portal, Oracle Web Center, Stellent UCM • Experience with testing/Quality Assurance methodologies • Operational experience with storage networks and technologies (EMC, NetApp) • Ability to develop and organize written documentation and procedures *OTHER DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* • Solid knowledge of Microsoft and UNIX operating systems • Proven experience with enterprise change management processes • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Strong written and oral communication skills • Detailed knowledge of networking and security technologies such as TCP/IP,DNS, firewalls, load balancing/proxies, authentication, single-sign on • Strong operational knowledge of storage networks and technologies • Applied knowledge of testing and quality assurance methodologies -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
